Mead Construction is a family business started in 1992 by Martin Mead, specialising in groundworks, civil engineering, block paving and drainage contracts. In 1998 Martin was joined by Steve Evans who was also well experienced in all of these areas, adding all types of Macadam surfacing to their portfolio. Over the years the company became increasingly recognised by local and national authorities gaining approved contractor status from Anglian water and local councils. This has enabled the company to offer a complete groundworks package to both builders and private clients.
With labour becoming an increasingly expensive part of any project it became clear that many private clients and small firms may wish to undertake smaller projects themselves. It was with this in mind that Martins son Richard joined the company in 2002. He became responsible for the organisation and logistics of the companies ever increasing fleet of 8 lorries, 12 vans, 25 diggers and hundreds of pieces of plant, qualifying for CPC status from the Road Haulage Association along the way. The company has since expanded and with Steve taking his well earned retirement a few new members have been welcomed into the Mead construction team. Martins eldest son Michael has become the companies trusted QS with Andy Williams taking over from Steve on the Surfacing contracts.
With Richards and Michael's enthusiasm and Martin and Andy's experience the company endeavour to find the right solution to each individual client needs, combining competitive prices with quality service and products.
It is for this very reason that they have become a strong force within the local area.
